How do I install tvOS 26.1 RC on my Apple TV HD (4th generation)?

Connect your device to your computer. Open iTunes (Windows / macOS Mojave and earlier) or Finder (macOS Catalina and later). Hold Option (Mac) or Shift (Windows) and click Check for Update or Restore. Select the downloaded IPSW file and follow the on-screen instructions.

What are SHSH blobs and how do I save them?

SHSH blobs are cryptographic tickets Apple uses to verify firmware installations. Saving them while a version is still signed lets you potentially restore to it later. Use TSS Saver (tsssaver.1conan.com) or the blobsaver app with your device ECID.
